Wired Progress Report - Better Late Than Never!
My account was one of the ones that has been effected by payments not switching to pending and remaining active and the like, and I’ve had a lot of trouble with my payments not getting flagged by the script either it would seem, but all is good now.
All my payments are caught up! This is definitely one amazing comeback.
The update states InstaPay will be back by June 15th, but that should be Thursday, June 8th.
“Well, it’s about time we released another progress report for those who like to keep up on what we’ve been up to as well as how we’ve been coming along with oh-so-many issues that we have struggled with.
We started out with over 5,000 pending payments and when our site came back from a two week DDOS attack we really didn’t know if we would be able to restore our program. While we had the funds in reserve and we had the dedication of a very-devoted team, we were aware of how a lot of people jump off the wagon at the first sign of trouble (and why wouldn’t they, when there are over 10,000 other auto surfs to jump on).
We started paying out the moment our site came back. With thousands of tickets from angry/concerned/supportive/confused members, we answered each person as quickly and as well as we could. At this time however, we are still working in tickets as we have had to do a lot of proper organizing with tickets submitted multiple times or by people who weren’t sure when their payment was due and so on.

The new system paying out within seven business days has launched, and is in effect for ALL payments including older ones that are left over.
This means that if you are one of the few remaining who have a payment from ANY date, please count seven business days from today and you will receive your payment. To help us jumpstart our newly structured plan, the seven business day period goes into effect for all payments, even ones that might have been due today or tomorrow.
This is not due to a shortage of cash flow but to help us manage the multiple requests from new payment requests to older ones that we are still working on completing. We have limited staff and though we have been working overtime we need to balance things so that we are able to work and also able to have time out of each day for other things. To be able to keep motivated and on track, We ask for your understanding and support, as we have been feverishly working day and night for weeks, trying to completely restore the program and to move forward despite the negative press and at times, untrue statements made by people who failed to stay updated.

Insta Pay will be reactivated on Thursday, June 15th and will offer payments within three business days at the same rates as were previously available. Due to the time involved in processing payments we are not decreasing the fees applicable to using Insta Pay. Details on Insta Pay can be found within our forum and to those who are interested in using this option, it will appear once again within your members area on June 26th.

We recently started a debate on compounding, and asked for members to provide feedback on whether permanent compounding is something they would be interested in. The results were mixed with some people believing that compounding would essentially destroy the program while others believe that people should be given the option but with limitations.
At this time we are not going to implement permanent compounding onto our website but to be fair, we will allow requests to compound to be sent to our help center for any amount over $30.00 (due to the time involved in manually processing compound requests). In addition our usual 1% fee applies to all approved compounding requests. There is a department on our help desk labeled “Compound Requests” for those who wish to request a pending payment to be compounded. Once again we will approved compound requests over $30.00 only. This feature is available only through this month, and will then be available at limited times only. When the compounding option is on, we will notify members via our forum.

In addition to the problems our site has received due to the lengthy DDOS attack, part of our script stopped working correctly. This included automated expiry (roll overs). While the script seems to capture a large percentage of peoples accounts, it didn’t cover it all leaving people with active payments that should have went to pending. Our tech support department is still working on this problem and we will notify you when it has been corrected, however at this time we have optimized the script so it does automatically expire the majority of member payments.

After a long time of paying out of order, we are happy to say that we are able to begin paying by expired day (seventh business day) as of June 19th. By that time, we will have completely caught up on any older payouts, and would have had the time to begin using our new system and script that is being designed. This gives us more control in our admin panel and allows us to work exclusively by date, indicating when a payment is flagged for payment on the seventh business day or earlier.

Earlier last week we requested that anyone with an outstanding payment to submit a ticket into a special department within our help desk. We managed to sort through these tickets but it did take longer than expected, as it seemed people were submitting everything from general inquiries to compound requests within this area, giving us over 400 new tickets to sort through per day. Once we managed to sift through the tickets placing them into new private folders within our support center, we were able to obtain an accurate number of “left over” payments, and have just begun processing these requests and expect to have them completely finished by June 19th, our deadline for complete recovery.

Multiple accounts are not permitted at Wired Surf, and while we have never enforced our rules in the past, trusting that members would follow our terms of service, it is becoming evident that people are not only creating dozens of accounts, they are also self-referring, which is also against our terms. Therefore we will be dedicating some time to cleaning our system and contacting members in regards to multiple accounts privately via our support center. Members who have abused our program and have not followed our terms of service are subject to account closure, without payment.
Our terms are available at http://www.wiredsurf.com/tos.php

Wired Surf purchased Preventier from RackSpace to protect our website but as many of you know, RackSpace requires training before it can successfully prevent attacks. Due to the forum being constantly attacked, which explains it’s continous up & down state, Preventier has not yet been fully trained meaning that we are not fully protected yet. After a lengthy discussion with our account representative, we were told that Preventier has gone back into training and we expect that it will be ready to ensure our site and forum is no longer attacked shortly. The experience we have had with Preventier hasn’t been a very good one as it seems to take a long time to actually see the results of a properly implemented protection service. Hopefully, we will get an update from RackSpace shortly indicating that our site is ‘attack-proof’. We will keep you updated.
In the event that our site or forum is offline, we always post updates on our blog, available at http://www.wiredsurfnews.blogspot.com

Additional updates will be available via our forum as they become available. Please be sure to stay up to date by visiting our board as it is the best place to receive current news.
