Hey y’all, here’s an update on a security issue with WiredSurf…

Coincidentally, I mentioned it on Northern Calm when the news first broke last night!

Now we have the official update and Wired are on top of it:

“Recently, many members discovered that their passwords or e-gold account numbers had been changed from within their accounts. Our security team spent the better part of the day investigating how people were able to gain unauthorized access and discovered a security bug that allowed knowledgeable hackers to access specific accounts provided they had the persons ID number.

We have since fixed this security issue and all accounts are now safe without concern of being accessed without consent. We ask that all Wired Surf members log into their accounts and check to ensure that their e-gold account numbers are correct. We also suggest changing your password to something that you have not used on any other auto surf program.

Once we have had members change their passwords and confirm that their e-gold account numbers are correct, we can rest assured that this problem has been completely resolved and will not reoccur.

If you were one of our members who had their passwords changed and are still unable to access your account, please open up a support ticket and include your full details (full name, address) as well as your choice of a new passcode. Our support team will reset your password so that you can access your account.

We appreciate all of your support during this process, and are very proud of our security and programming team for their fast response and prompt resolution.”

Today we also have WiredSurf’s answer to FastTrack payment options:

Wired Surf prides itself on timely payments despite our continously growing community, and we will continue to process payments as quickly as possible, however, we need your help.

Rather than charging members a fee to receive payments faster (we don’t terribly put much faith in making you pay just to get your money on time), we decided to form the WS Voting Club.

This club is free to join, but requires your ongoing participation. Quite simply, if you would like to be put on a priority payment list, where you will receive your payments faster, you simply need to visit our forum at www.surfingwire.com/forum and look for the new forum area labelled: Voting Club

That area will provide complete details on how you can join.

Hope you’re having a terrific weekend!”

Check it out.
